This policy explains what personal data MatchApp processes, why it is used, which service providers may receive it, how long selected data is kept, and the choices available to you.
If you create an account, MatchApp may process your email, profile name, country, date of birth, age, star sign, avatar and language or region preferences. We also process the entertainment information you choose to save, including Watch Later, watched titles, likes, dislikes, ratings, private title notes, recommendation exclusions and account activity needed to provide the service.
Match Together sessions use a short code, participant preferences and the resulting shared recommendation. These sessions are designed to expire after 24 hours. Private contact entries used for sharing are visible only to the account owner and are not used by MatchApp to contact those people on your behalf.
LuminaMatch. When you play while signed in, we store progress with your account so you can resume: completed and unlocked levels, stars, best move and time results, points, round counts, and the current card layout, matched pairs, moves, elapsed time, timed-mode setting and hints used. Guest progress is kept only in memory while the game is open; it is not an account save and is lost when the game is closed or reloaded. Sound, music and volume settings may be stored locally in your browser.
LuminaMatch with friends. Online play with accepted Match Together friends uses participant account identifiers and aliases, room invitations and status, cards, turns, moves and scores to run the shared game. The participants receive the room information needed to play. See how LuminaMatch works.
If you follow a title for streaming availability, MatchApp stores the title identifier, your selected viewing region and the follow status so it can recheck that title. If you explicitly enable device notifications, MatchApp also stores the browser push endpoint and subscription keys required to deliver those alerts. Notification preferences, read status and selected email-alert preference are associated with your account; browser or email delivery is optional and can be disabled.
Voice input (optional). When you start a voice interaction with Jonas, your Android device's or browser's speech-recognition service processes microphone audio to produce text. That service may send audio to its servers under its own privacy terms. The resulting text is handled like a typed request and may be submitted automatically in voice mode. Granting microphone permission alone does not start listening.
Nearby cinemas (optional). When you choose the nearby-cinema action and allow location access, the location returned by your device is included with the selected title in a Google Maps search. The Android app requests approximate location only, with no precise or background location permission. A browser may return a more precise location according to its permission settings. Granting location permission alone does not start a lookup.
Data is used to operate account authentication, prevent duplicate recommendations, personalize matches from preferences you provide, remember lists and settings, provide Match Together, monitor titles you explicitly follow for regional availability, deliver notifications you opt into, enforce daily allowances and paid entitlements, prevent abuse, maintain service security, and respond to support or data-rights requests.
MatchApp accounts are for users age 16 or older. Kids Mode can be used without a child account and is intended for family use with parent or guardian supervision. A Kids Mode age-band choice is stored on the device to filter age-appropriate titles; saved Kids favorites are also stored locally on the device. Users under 16 should not create an account or submit personal profile information.
Kids Mode does not contain Google AdSense ad slots, and MatchApp does not intentionally use a child's selected age band to personalize advertising. Site measurement technology may still be loaded, so MatchApp is continuing to review the Kids Mode analytics and consent configuration for child-protection requirements in each operating jurisdiction.
The general web service uses Google Tag Manager and may use Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Depending on consent choices, browser settings, region and Google configuration, those services may process cookies or device information for measurement, fraud prevention, frequency control and advertising. Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies in your browser or use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers as a result of ad serving. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and our Cookies page for additional information.
Where advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to MatchApp and other websites. Those cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads across sites. You can opt out of personalized Google advertising in Google Ads Settings. Other participating vendors offer choices through YourAdChoices; this does not cover every vendor. See Google's advertising information for how its advertising services use data.
To review or withdraw this site's advertising consent, open Privacy and cookie settings on Home and use Google's consent controls where available. If those controls are unavailable, MatchApp reports that no consent change was saved. The former MatchApp banner's saved “Accept” preference does not grant advertising consent. You can also remove or block cookies in your browser; removing them may sign you out or reset preferences.
MatchApp uses service providers to operate the product, including Supabase for authentication and application data, Google when you choose Google sign-in, Stripe for payment processing and entitlement confirmation, browser push services when you enable device notifications, Google services for analytics/advertising and AI-assisted recommendation features, and entertainment-data providers used to verify titles, artwork or availability. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy obligations where applicable.
Stripe handles payment-card processing. MatchApp receives payment, customer, subscription and transaction-status identifiers needed to activate purchases; MatchApp does not need to store your full payment-card number.
When you follow an explicitly labeled affiliate link for an e-book, MatchApp may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. Our adult e-book experience currently includes eligible Amazon Brazil affiliate links on supported web-browser surfaces; other store links are ordinary referrals unless clearly labeled otherwise. We may measure the retailer and surface you clicked to evaluate these links. The retailer controls checkout, purchase eligibility, tracking technology, fulfillment and any refund; review its own privacy and purchase terms before buying. MatchApp does not receive your full retailer payment-card details.
For AI replies, text from typed or transcribed requests and relevant conversation context may be processed through Supabase by OpenRouter and its selected model provider, OpenAI, Google or Groq, depending on the available route. The speech-recognition service and Google Maps also process the information described above under their own privacy terms.
On supported devices, passkey authentication is handled by your device or password manager and Supabase. MatchApp does not receive or store your biometric data or device PIN. If you choose Google sign-in, Google authenticates you and may return an account identifier, email address and limited profile information according to your Google account settings.
Account data is kept while the account is active and as needed to provide the features you use. Match Together sessions are designed to expire after 24 hours. When you request account deletion from Profile, the request enters a 72-hour deletion process. Limited records may be kept longer where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, payment/accounting records, dispute handling, or legal obligations. Third-party processors may maintain their own legally required retention periods.
You can remove saved titles and private contacts, change available preferences, and request account deletion from Profile. Depending on applicable law, including the LGPD or GDPR, you may also have rights to access, confirm processing, correct eligible data, obtain information about sharing, object or withdraw consent where applicable, request portability where required, and request deletion. Contact [email protected] for privacy requests.
Microphone and location access are optional. You can enable or revoke them in Android Settings → Apps → MatchApp Ai → Permissions, or in your browser's site settings. Typing and browsing remain available if you decline. Revoking a permission prevents further access through that permission; it does not erase information already sent to a speech service, AI provider or Google Maps.
MatchApp is available across multiple regions and some service providers operate internationally. Mandatory privacy, consumer and child-protection rights that apply in your jurisdiction are not waived by this policy.
